Real Madrid interest in Erling Haaland confirmed by Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea set sighs on Wolves star Ruben Neves, Juventus are interested in Arsenal outcast Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Newcastle eye loan for Man United striker Anthony Martial

The January transfer window is fast approaching and Premier League clubs are busy making their plans to spend this winter.

The mid-season market is always a hectic time for top-flight clubs as teams look to bolster their ranks for the second half of the campaign.

It’s more difficult to do business in the January window but several sides across the country may be forced to open their chequebooks after Christmas.

What are the latest rumours and headlines? talkSPORT.com takes a look…

Ruben Neves

Chelsea have set their sights on a deal to sign Wolves midfielder Neves, according to Spanish outlet TodoFichajes.

The report adds that Thomas Tuchel is keen on the Portuguese to bolster his midfield – who have been ravaged by inuries.

And Neves – who featured in Wolves’ 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Sunday – would represent a significant upgrade on the Blues’ current back-up options.

The Midlands outfit would reportedly demand around £38million for the 24-year-old, who has two-and-a-half years remaining on his deal.

Erling Haaland

Real Madrid’s interest in Erling Haaland has been confirmed by Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke.

He told BILD TV: “No matter where I go, everyone speaks to you about Erling Haaland.

“All I know is a guarantee that Real Madrid are very interested in him. I could name 25 others now.

“But I know for sure, it can be that he leaves, but it can also be that he stays.

“A few days ago I had a very good conversation with Mino Raiola. When we are in a target corridor, the conversations are always quite friendly.

“And that phone call was quite friendly. We will certainly have another meeting in the next few weeks.

“The overall development of Haaland is in the foreground. Just like with Lewandowski, I would like to be proud of Erling at some point if he wins the Champions League.

“Personally, I think it’s good for him if he stays in the Bundesliga a little longer.”

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Juventus are interested in the Arsenal striker, 32, with his future at the Emirates in doubt after being stripped of the captaincy, according to Italian outlet Tuttosport.

Yet the Gunners have been warned they could face a hard time trying to shift Aubameyang after he fell out with manager Mikel Arteta.

Tony Cascarino told talkSPORT: “I think if they can offload him and get out of it cheaply, or maybe a club will loan him for a period then I think Arsenal, from the outside, would definitely take that option. I think that’s clear.

“You don’t make a big call like that without consequences. The only reason he stays is because it will be difficult to offload him.

“He’s on such big money there aren’t too many clubs in European football who can afford to take someone like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

“To win back Arteta, he’s going to have to come from a long way back to be on the right side of Arteta.”

Martial was heavily linked with a move away from Man United last summer

Anthony Martial

Newcastle are reportedly weighing up a deal to sign Martial, with Man United set for a hefty loan fee.

Eddie Howe’s side have been linked with the forward previously, and could look to bring in former City and Premier League striker Edin Dzeko as well.

In a bid to secure more firepower up top, The Sun reported that the Premier League strugglers are said to be willing to offer Man United £6million to see Martial join them for the remainder of the campaign.

Given the lack of game time he has been given and with other players ahead of him at Old Trafford, both parties could look to strike the deal as soon as possible.

Antonio Rudiger

Manchester United are reportedly interested in a move for Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger.

The 28-year-old German is out of contract this summer and much has been said about his future in recent weeks.

Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have all been linked with him but he could reportedly stay in the Premier League.

German outlet Bild claim United are keen to complete an audacious swoop for the centre-back.

It is said that they are hopeful that Ralf Rangnick can help them secure his signature as he knows Rudiger’s agent and brother Sahr Senesie very well.

Bild add that United have received a willingness to negotiate over a move.

Dusan Vlahovic

Dusan Vlahovic’s Fiorentina career could be coming to an end and the Premier League big boys will hope to tempt him to England.

Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United are all said to be keeping tabs on the situation, following news the Serbian has rejected an offer of a new deal, said to be the highest in Fiorentina’s history.

The 21-year-old has been brilliant in Serie A this season, scoring 15 goals in 17 league matches.

That form has seen his club attempt to tie him down to a massive new deal, but that is proving to be unlikely after comments from the club’s chief executive.

“We’ve offered Vlahovic the highest contract ever in the history of Fiorentina, several times,” Joe Barone told Repubblica.

“Both Dusan and his agent made us realise that they do not want to accept. Our bid is still on the table.”

Kieran Trippier is on his way to Newcastle in a £25m deal

Kieran Trippier

Kieran Trippier is on his way to Newcastle in what will likely be a £25m deal, talkSPORT understands.

The Magpies are willing to make Trippier, who has six months to run on his Atletico Madrid contract, their highest-paid player.

It’s understood personal terms are close to being agreed but Newcastle still need to settle on a fee with the Spanish club.

It would take a bid of more than £25m to land the England full-back, but that would not be a problem for the newly-minted Magpies.

talkSPORT’s Alex Crook said: “Trippier to Newcastle was suggested to me by somebody I trust, that this is almost as good as done. Newcastle are really pushing for it.

“We know he is keen to return to the Premier League, he was when Manchester United were chasing his signature in the summer.

“His wages in Spain are in excess of £100,000-a-week – that would make him Newcastle’s top earner and they’re willing to do it.

“From a personal perspective, Trippier’s camp is very happy with the terms on offer, but Newcastle will still need to agree a fee with Atletico Madrid.

“I do feel this would be a statement signing from Newcastle, that they might be in trouble near the foot of the Premier League but they can still attract top, top players.”

Manchester United are interested in Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland

Manchester United are reportedly the only serious bidder for Erling Haaland.

According to SportBild, United are strong candidates for Haaland’s signature compared to his other suitors, but will first have to seal Champions League qualification.

Chelsea have already signed Romelu Lukaku, while Real Madrid’s priority is to sign Kylian Mbappe.

The Borussia Dortmund superstar could replace Mbappe at Paris Saint-Germain should he leave but a move to Paris ‘would only be an alternative’ for him.

Manchester City and Bayern Munich have other targets in mind meaning United could have a free swing at Haaland.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Thomas Tuchel has said he will contact Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after he was stripped of the Arsenal captaincy.

Aubameyang worked under Tuchel at Borussia Dortmund and together they won the DFB Pokal Cup in 2017.

This week, Arsenal confirmed the striker will no longer wear the skipper’s armband after a string of disciplinary breaches.

Tuchel has said he feels for Aubameyang, adding: “I will talk to him at some point. I feel sorry that he is in trouble.

“I believe in his positive character but I am not involved in this situation or his club. It is just about my picture and relationship.”

Struggling Newcastle have been cited as a suitable place for Alli to find his feet again

Dele Alli

Tottenham have given the green light for Dele Alli to go out on loan this January, according to reports.

The 25-year-old has started just five times for Spurs in the league this season, and his lack of first team football has led to club chairman Daniel Levy changing his mind regarding Alli’s short-term future.

Rumours suggested the Tottenham owner denied Alli a loan move to Paris Saint-Germain last January.

However, according to The Athletic, now both Levy and Spurs’ managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, see a temporary move away as the answer to reigniting his previous form.

Teamtalk now claim Newcastle have made initial enquiries about Alli but want an option to buy inserted in his contract if they stay in the Premier League.

Christian Pulisic

Barcelona are planning moves for THREE Chelsea players, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.

The report states that and Christian Pulisic, 23, and defensive pair Antonio Rudiger, 28, and Cesar Azpilicueta, 32, are on the Catalans wish list.

The latter duo are entering the final months of their deals at Stamford Bridge and could agree pre-contract agreements with Barcelona ahead of a summer move.

Pulisic meanwhile has been targeted for a January loan swoop after a mixture of form and fitness has limited him to just six league appearances this term.

Divock Origi

AC Milan have reportedly added the Liverpool striker to a list of potential targets as the long-term replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

However, Italian outlet Tutto Mercatao claim the Rossoneri face competition from fellow Serie A club Atalanta for the Belgian forward.

Liverpool are said to be monitoring highly-rated Premier League stars Jarrod Bowen and Raphinha following continued doubts over Origi’s future.

Andreas Christensen

Tottenham have joined the race to sign the Chelsea defender, according to the Daily Star.

The centre-back is facing an uncertain future with his contract set to expire next summer and no agreement yet in place.

Interest is building with Spurs now in a queue alongside Manchester City and Manchester United to sign the Denmark international.

Rodrygo

Liverpool have put Rodrygo at the top of their summer shopping list, according to El Nacional.

The Real Madrid youngster is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in Europe with the 20-year-old Brazilian putting in some eye-catching displays.

It’s claimed that Jurgen Klopp’s side are willing to pay €80m (£68m) to get a deal done.
