On Monday, TV’s biggest stars gathered at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles to celebrate must-see shows including Abbott Elementary, Atlanta, Barry, Dopesick, Euphoria, Succession, The Great, The White Lotus, Ozark, Severance, and more. While the evening usually results in adding a few new finds to your watch list, this year’s red carpet and ceremony delivered more than great recommendations; it inspired viewers, giving audiences far more to talk about than the nominated programming.
Whether it was a curve-skimming silhouette in an eye-popping palette or an example of expert tailoring accentuated by sparkling accessories, it’s clear that guests at the 2022 Emmys came to make fashion history. And with designers and stylists working together with hair, makeup, and nail artists to create these once-in-a-lifetime looks, it’s truly a team effort to be named best-dressed.
Emmy nominees Nicholas Braun, who earned a nod for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for Succession and Seth Rogen, who was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for his role in Pam & Tommy, both wore white suits and earned spots on our best-dressed list. While it wasn’t the most groundbreaking choice, classic all-white suiting was the standout menswear trend of the night.
Zendaya, who won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Rue on HBO’s Euphoria, wore a black strapless Valentino gown that she accessorized with Bulgari jewels. The look was a result of collaborating with her longtime stylist, Law Roach, and exuded elegance which made her an instant addition to our best-dressed list.
Natasha Rothwell, nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, stunned in a custom merlot-colored silk taffeta gown from Safiyaa. With dramatic puff sleeves and plunging neckline, Rothwell emanated confidence in the daring look, landing her on our list.
