The country of Sri Lanka is quite famous for its beaches and coasts, a vista of shallow seafronts, and well known for its coral reefs and diving opportunities. Batticaloa History
It’s not just escapades on the sea, however. Around 30-40 kilometers away lies the town of Batticaloa, yet another worthwhile stop on the coastal vacation. It’s got a lot of history and heritage here, harking back to Colonial times, embodied by the ruins of the Batticaloa Fort, Lighthouse, and the wreck of the HMS Hermes of the Second World War.
