North Melbourne now owns four picks first-round picks in this year’s draft, but Matthew Lloyd doesn’t want to see them trade any of them.
The Kangaroos are widely expected to tempt West Coast with an offer for the No.1 pick to have the chance to select prized young gun Harley Reid at the top of the draft.
Lloyd doesn’t think Reid is worth “selling the farm” for.
“I just don’t think you do that if you’re North Melbourne,” he told 3AW’s Wide World of Sports Radio.
“You take four quality players in the top 20 rather than just selling the farm to try and get pick one.
“Everyone’s ranking is he (Reid) is clearly the best player at this point in time, but often it doesn’t happen. Chris Judd went pick three, Dustin Martin goes at pick three, Petracca wasn’t a pick one, Bontempelli was a pick four.”
