Puig de L’Ofre (1093 meters) is a mountain in the central Tramuntana mountains on Mallorca Island, Spain.
The summit is easy to reach from the Cúber Reservoir, located along the Ma-10 road, 20 km northeast of Sóller.
Starting at the car parks at Cúber, the trail follows the western shore of the reservoir and continues up the valley to the Coll de l’Ofre saddle. From here, most hikers continue on a wide track to Coll de Poma, where the ascent starts. Until this point, the hike requires little exertion.
To reach the summit, hikers must conquer a final 190 meters up the steep forested southern slope of Puig de l’Ofre.

Cúber Reservoir
Cúber Reservoir is located along the Ma-10 road, 20 kilometers east of Sóller.
There are several free car parks along the road near the reservoir.
There’s also a bus stop directly at the trailhead.

Cúber Reservoir to Puig de l’Ofre Trail Description
Cúber Reservoir to Coll de l’Ofre (50 minutes)
Pass through the gate and turn right, following the GR 221 Barranc de Biniaraix sign.
The flat trail wraps around the northern end of the reservoir and continues along its western shore, with views of Puig de Sa Rateta and Puig de na Franquesa.
Sheep graze freely between evergreen oak. Altogether, it’s a beautiful destination for walking.
It takes about 30 minutes (2 km) to reach the southernmost end of the reservoir.
After crossing the Torrent de Binimorat stream, continue straight up the valley.
A few minutes later, the path intersects a gated dry stone wall. Pass through. Signs indicate that dogs must be leashed, hikers must stay on the trail at all times (L’Ofre Propietat Privada No Abandonar La Ruta Assenyalada), and that you’re in a private hunting area (Coto privado de caza).
Continue straight on the wide gravel path, lined with dissgras. The cone-shaped Puig L’Ofre, cloaked in trees, is visible ahead. Along this trail, you may encounter free-roaming donkeys and sheep.
When the trail divides at Binimorat estate, bear right and continue following signs to GR 221 in the direction of Barranc de Biniaraix. Hike up through the pine forest to the saddle of Coll de l’Ofre. This forest path is now rockier and uneven.
At the saddle, you can detour to a viewpoint, which overlooks Cornador Gran, Cornador Petit, Sóller Valley and the Mediterranean Sea. Use Maps.me to locate it.
Coll de l’Ofre to Coll de Poma (15 minutes)
Continue on the wide track. After a few meters, the trail divides. Bear left. You’re no longer on the GR 221.
Follow this level forest trail for about 15 minutes (1 km) to Coll de Poma.
There’s no sign indicating you’ve reached Coll de Poma and it doesn’t feel like a saddle. But, the path splits and there is a cairn at the base of a pine tree.
Coll de Poma to Puig de l’Ofre (25 minutes)
Turn left and follow the unmarked, but nonetheless clear path through the forest up the southern slope of Puig de l’Ofre.
The path is narrow and steep. Follow the cairns. When you get to the rock face, head left up to the ridge.
When you crest the ridge, take note of the stone pile.
You can head right to a viewpoint, or continue left up to the summit (2 minutes).
Puig de l’Ofre to Cúber Reservoir (1:30 hours)
Locate the giant stone pile on the ridge and descend along the same trail back to Coll de Poma and then Coll de l’Ofre.
Descend the valley to Cúber Reservoir. Before reaching the reservoir, turn right, and follow the eastern shore around the reservoir back to the car park.

Fornalutx
Fornalutx is a mountain village nestled in the Serra de Tramuntana range. It’s located just off the scenic Ma-10 road in Sóller Valley. The village charms with its traditional stone buildings, narrow cobbled streets, and gorgeous mountain backdrop. During the day, the main square, Plaça d’España, is teeming with cyclists, hikers and other visitors. Though small, Fornalutx boasts a nice collection of eateries including Restaurant Café Med, Calzone Pizzeria, and molón.

Sóller
Sóller is located in a bowl-shaped valley in the central Tramuntana Mountains. It’s the ultimate base for hiking in Mallorca. During your stay, we recommend prioritizing the Barranc de Biniaraix – Cornador Gran peak hike, Puig des Tossals Verds circuit trail, and Cúber to Puig de l’Ofre peak hike.
Sóller is situated 3 km inland from the coast and Port de Sóller, which means that the coast is just a short drive, or bus ride away.
Beyond its fantastic location, Sóller is a delightful and vibrant town with no shortage of cafés, gelaterias, restaurants, bars, and shops.
Hotel on-site parking is rare. We recommend reaching out to your accommodation in advance to inquire about parking. Some hotels offer paid parking in a location nearby. A lot of people park on the main road ma-11, just outside town, and walk in. The estate hotels outside of town have on-site parking.
Budget | Hostel Sóller – Albergue Juvenil is a charming and clean hostel and bar in Sóller perfect for trekkers and backpackers. Double rooms and dormitory beds are available. Breakfast available (7 EUR). Note: if you’re staying in the dormitory rooms, you can either sleep in your own sleeping bag or rent sheets for 5 EUR.
Midrange | Hotel El Guía is a small (24 rooms), traditional Mallorcan hotel and restaurant set in the old town of Sóller, a short walk to Plaça de sa Constitució Square. It’s possible to book a parking space (10 EUR/day) in advance.

This top-rated accommodation stands out with its central location, kind and personable service, and the plentiful and generous breakfast, served in the local bakery. They offer paid parking in a nearby car park on a first come, first served basis
