The Chinese city of Chengdu has much to offer with diverse attractions that have become Instagram favourites too, bound to get you plenty of “likes”! Read on to find out more about these places.
Wu Hou Shrine
An Insta favourite, the Wu Hou Shrine is known for its distinctive red walls that provide an attractive backdrop for all your pictures. Within easy reach of properties like Ascott Qinhuang Chengdu, this sacred site is also home to impressive temples and idyllic gardens worth seeing; it can get crowded so try and visit early morning for the best shots.
Qintai Road
A great place to soak up some culture and capture memorable pictures, Qintai Road is ideal to explore and can be reached from accommodation near Qinhuang CBD. On your visit, you will come across traditional architecture and distinctive rooftops as well as a diverse array of shops. Don’t forget to head to the end of the road where you will find a lovely bridge to photograph.
Anshun Bridge
Originally dating to the Yuan Dynasty, Anshun Bridge is another striking structure that attracts Instagrammers and photographers alike. Measuring 81 metres in length, this structure offers a wonderful sight to behold especially at night amidst a river backdrop. The bridge which now features a restaurant also has a memorial archway and water beast statues as well.
Chengdu Giant Pandas Base
Amongst the most popular local attractions, Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is not to be missed; after all, who wouldn’t fall in love with pictures of cute and cuddly pandas! Look to head here between 8:30am and 10:00am to catch sight of the pandas being fed; between August and September, there’s a good chance to spot newborn pandas too.
