Two people have died after a two-vehicle crash in South Canterbury on Friday afternoon.
The crash happened shortly after 3.30pm at the intersection of State Highway 1 and Looker Road, south of Rangitata.
The two people died at the scene while a third was flown to Christchurch Hospital with serious injuries.
The road was closed but has since reopened.
