Tyrone Peachey has secured a fairytale homecoming to Penrith, re-joining the club four years after leaving for the Gold Coast Titans.
The 31-year-old re-joins the Panthers on a one-year deal, with Charlie Staines granted an immediate release to join the Wests Tigers.
Peachey played his best football with the Panthers, notching all three of his State of Origin appearances for New South Wales during the 2018 season.

The versatile veteran played 109 games and scored 40 tries for the Panthers between 2014-18 after beginning his career with the Cronulla Sharks in 2013.
Peachey left the Panthers for a lucrative offer from the Titans, but failed to find his best football up north, managing just eight tries in 63 appearances for the club between 2019 and 2021.
He joined the Tigers in 2022 and made 13 appearances, scoring one try.
”I look forward to welcoming Tyrone and his family back home to Panthers for the 2023 NRL season,” Panthers CEO Matt Cameron said in a club statement on Friday.
“It’s great to have Tyrone’s experience and versatility as part of our club, and we believe he can flourish in the Panthers environment.”
Cameron also thanked Staines for his contribution to the club after scoring 23 tries in 39 appearances for Penrith between 2020-22.
”It’s been rewarding to see Charlie progress his rugby league journey during his time at the club,” he said.
“Charlie leaves Panthers as a premiership winner with several fond memories, including his unforgettable NRL debut and his try in the 2022 NRL grand final.

Staines is the second premiership-winning Panther to join the Tigers next season after the signing of star hooker Api Koroisau.
