When it came to tying the knot, Ricky and Rebecca put a modern twist on the classic “big fat Indian wedding”.
The couple set out to bring together two cultures and celebrate the best of both traditions for two weeks of spectacular ceremonies and rituals.
More than 200 people travelled across the globe from Dubai, India, Canada, United Kingdom and New Zealand to attend their four separate pre-wedding events, as well as their two ceremonies; traditional Sikh and western.
When and where
The celebrations began on November 16 and concluded on November 27, with the couple’s traditional Sikh wedding taking place at Canning Vale’s Sikh Gurudwara and their western ceremony at Masonmill Gardens in Carmel.
Dress
Rebecca donned a bejewelled lehenga from designer Nitika Gujral for their traditional Sikh wedding ceremony, and a design by Enzoani from Dion for Brides at the western celebration.
Honeymoon
A day after tying the knot, the newlyweds embarked on a two-week trip to New Zealand to explore the great landscapes and hidden gems of both the North and South island.
