Coventry City host Hull City at CBS Arena in the race to reach the Championship Play-Offs.
Victory would see Coventry go seventh in the table but defeat would realistically end their play-off hopes.
Hull can stay seventh with a win and move to within three points of the final play-off spot, currently held by Norwich.
Team News
Fabio Tavares is a doubt for Coventry after he suffered an ankle injury during the Sky Blues’ cruel FA Cup exit against Manchester United.
Kasey Palmer is back from suspension but Tatsuhiro Sakamoto (back) remains absent.
Hull have no fresh injury concerns to report following their goalless draw at Watford, as Anass Zaroury (groin) remains sidelined.
When is Kick-Off?
Coventry entertain Hull at CBS Arena on Wednesday 24 April at 7:45pm BST, live on Sky Sports Red Button in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Coventry have won two of their last 11 league meetings against Hull (W2, D4, L5).
- Hull are unbeaten in their last five visits to Coventry (W3, D2).
- Coventry failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five home meetings against Hull.
- Ellis Simms has scored five goals in Coventry’s last three home matches (W2, L1).
- Jaden Philogene has scored in three of Hull’s last four matches.
Prediction
Having looked non-existent for much of the opening 70 minutes against Man Utd, Coventry certainly showed their quality when stepped up their intensity with a brilliant fightback, but some sloppy finishing and a stupid VAR decision plus two penalty misses cost them a cupset.
That performance from the 70th minute onwards though has to now be their blueprint for winning their final four league games if want any chance of reaching the play-offs, starting with this game although fitness could play a part due to the lack of preparatory time.
Hull likewise know that this is a must-win game for their own play-off dreams after a wasteful performance in their draw at Watford, but they will have the fitness advantage and decent away record against Coventry in their favour.
A tight contest therefore seems on the cards but if Coventry bring their best quality into this game and can score an early goal, I fancy them to kick on and try and get a second otherwise Hull could well snatch a draw – which won’t suit both clubs – once fatigue hits the hosts.
Prediction: Coventry 1-1 Hull
