Kaizer Chiefs got their campaign off to a slow start as they could only afford to play to a 0-0 draw at home against Chippa United on Sunday.

There had been a breathe of fresh air at Naturena with all the changes the club made in order to try and bring back the old glory days.
But with Molefi Ntseki as head coach, a section of Chiefs fans isn’t convinced that the team will end their nine-year trophy drought.

Ntseki gave a number of their new signings a chance to show what they can offer Chiefs this season, and The South African website takes a look at them.

Ntseki showed faith in his new centre-back pairing of Given Msimango and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, and the duo didn’t disappoint as Chiefs kept a clean sheet.

In midfield, Chiefs started with Edson Castillo, and he was arguably their best player as he showed no signs of nerves throughout the game.
Striker Ranga Chivaviro also started, but he was taken off in the second half as he looked lost due to the fact that there was no real supply of balls.

Ntseki then introduced Tebogo Potsane in the second half, and the diminutive winger hardly put a foot wrong as he took the game to Chippa United with his pace.
Mduduzi Mdantsane also got a run to try and stabilize the midfield, and he did a wonderful job of trying to be the link between the midfield and the strikers.
