The Red Devils haven’t scored a single goal in any of their last three Premier League matches. Bizarrely, that’s a statistic which stretches back to February 19th against Leicester. They’ve failed to score in each of their three subsequent top-flight matches against Liverpool, Southampton and Newcastle. Erik Ten Hag’s side have lost all of their away matches this season against sides currently in the top nine and they’ve also failed to score in three of those matches, including yesterday at St James’ Park against the Magpies.

Although they’re at home, United should be wary of Brentford striker Ivan Toney. The Englishman has 17 goals in the Premier League this season, only Harry Kane and Erling Haaland have more.

Casemiro and Christian Eriksen still absent for Red Devils
Casemiro’s all-round midfield brilliance is going to be missed by any team in Europe, and the Brazilian must still sit out two more matches of his four-game suspension. His excellence, both on and off the ball, provides such stability for United. From there, Christian Eriksen can weave his creative patterns and make chances for the team’s attackers.
United must somehow get through their EPL matches against Brentford and Everton without Casemiro and claim positive results, and then move from there. Meanwhile, Christian Eriksen is still not fit to return.

Brentford will be confident they can claim three points at the Theatre of Dreams. They drew 3-3 last time out with Brighton, though, so perhaps we’re in for a goal-fest on Wednesday.
