A woman died Sunday evening after a shooting near a police station in the Morgan Park neighborhood.
A car drove up to the garage door of the 22nd District station in the 1900 block of Monterey Avenue on the Far South Side at approximately 8 p.m. The woman and a man also in the car had been struck by gunfire, according to Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford.
Both were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center.
The woman was pronounced dead at the hospital, Langford said. The man was in fair condition, with gunshot wounds in his lower body. Neither person’s age was immediately available.
