World Travel Awards 2022: PrideInn, Movenpick Crowned Kenya’s Best Conference and Business Hotels

• World Travel Awards 2022 recognised the best hotels and resorts in Kenya during the Saturday, October 15 event
• PrideInn Hotel and Movenpick emerged winners in the conference and business categories, respectively
• The hotels competed against renowned hotels, including Nairobi Seran Hotel, Radisson Blu Hotels and Sarova Panafric

Kenyan hotels and resorts have continued to shine in Africa amidst the recovery of the tour sector from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The World Travel Awards recognised various hotels and tour resorts among the winners in the 2022 event.

Leading conference/business hotels in Kenya

PrideInn Beach Resort, Spa, and Movenpick Hotel and Residences bagged Kenya’s leading conference and business awards during the Saturday, October 15 event.

The conference hotel category attracted nominees, including Fairmont The Norfolk, Movenpick Hotel & Residences, Nairobi Seran Hotel, Radisson Blu Hotels and Villa Rosa Kempinski.

In the business category, Movenpick competed against Fairmont The Norfolk, Crowne Plaza, Hilton, Radisson Blu and Sarova Panafric.

Nairobi City award

The award also recognised Nairobi as Africa’s Leading Travel Destination for two consecutive years, beating other cities.

Knight Frank, a real estate company, CEO Mark Dunford, explained that Nairobi is the first real estate market to mature in Africa.

Dunford revealed that there is the ease of doing business in the capital city because of the increased security and developed social amenities.

“When experts of foreign companies are looking for where to invest, infrastructure contributes to that. I feel that the ease of doing business and security are better in Nairobi since COVID-19 struck.

“There is also the availability of the quality of life. The city has many developed social amenities -shopping malls, compared to Neighbouring cities like Addis Ababa, Dar es Salaam etc,” said Dunford in an interview with TUKO.co.ke.

Kenya Airways (KQ) also bagged awards during the event, maintaining its status as the Pride of Africa for two consecutive years.

The National Carrier won the African Leading Arline in 2022, beating the likes of South African Airlines.

KQ Chief Executive Officer Allan Kilavuka said the carrier is committed to offering efficient and world-class services to its customers.

World Travel Awards 2022 nominated seven African Airlines, including KQ, Ethiopian Airlines, RwandAir and others.
