A fire of unknown origin gutted a five-bedroom house leaving a total of nine people homeless in Duhaney Park on Thursday.
Reports are that at about 7:30 am, people in the community saw smoke coming from the house located close to a gully that runs through the St Andrew-based community and raised an alarm.
A team of firefighters arrived at the location but despite their efforts, the building was destroyed.
Emily Cameron, one of the fire victims, said she was close by operating her stall and trying to catch a sale when her grandson came and told her that the house was on fire.
