Police are investigating at Tōtara Park in South Auckland after a person was assaulted there this morning.
Police said they were called to the incident about 11am, and one person had minor injuries.
An increased police presence is in the area, including the neighbouring Botanic Gardens, as police search the area.
A cordon is in place at the Botanic Gardens.
