Fire Rescue Victoria’s Craig Brownlie says there is a “big clean-up” ahead after a truck crashed on a Melbourne freeway – causing chemical herbicide to spill a “considerable distance”.
Fire Rescue Victoria has issued a community warning for the incident – with residents in the immediate area being advised to shelter in place.
“We’ll be working with EPA in terms of ascertaining additional equipment that we will bring on site,” Mr Brownlie said.
“So will be some heavy machinery that will assist us with the clean-up.”
