Wordle #398 Clues, Hints and Answer for Friday, July 22 Game

[ad_1]

Wordle has taken the world by storm, with millions of people reportedly playing every day. If you’ve never tried the puzzle before, you can do so for free here.

The game is pretty straightforward: you have to guess a five-letter word in six tries or less. It is color-coded, so when a letter is in the right position it will turn green. Any letters that are in the word but have been placed in the wrong position will turn yellow. Letters that aren’t in the word at all will turn gray.

Today’s puzzle has left quite a few people stumped, which is why Newsweek has put together these tips and tricks to help you solve Wordle #398.

The Origins of Wordle

The puzzle was created by software engineer Josh Wardle, so he could play it with his partner Palak Shah.

Wardle started working on the game in 2013 and returned to the project during the COVID pandemic. Wordle was launched to the public in October 2021 and quickly became a global hit.

In January 2022, Wardle sold his creation to The New York Times for an undisclosed seven-figure sum and the online game moved over to the newspaper’s website in February.
