A Handy Honeymoon Guide to China

China makes an ideal choice for newlyweds looking for the perfect place to celebrate their new life together and the below information will help when planning this memorable getaway.

Diverse Destinations

There are different destinations you can choose from, though some stand out like Xiamen; accommodation can be easily found at this coastal city where one can enjoy idyllic beaches, enchanting Gulangyu Island, and the Riyuegu Hot Springs. Couples can also consider a trip to the capital, Beijing, home to the Forbidden City and from where they can access the Great Wall of China; Shanghai with its Bund and Lijiang with its riverside charm are also worth considering.

Choosing Accommodation

You also get some ideal accommodation options which can range from hotel rooms to stylish apartments at properties like Somerset Software Park Xiamen. Apartments do offer added flexibility for couples looking for more independence and the option of cooking their own meals if needed. Look to stay at a property of a reputed hospitality brand that offers a loyalty programme with added benefits as well as onsite amenities like a breakfast lounge, pool, and sauna room.

Best Periods to Visit

There’s something on offer year-round in China, though some periods are more suited for honeymoons. One of these times would be Spring (April to May) when the weather is cool and pleasant, while flowers bloom and provide a lovely setting. Equally captivating is fall (September to October) when the temperature is also relatively cool with plenty of clear days; it’s also a great period for couples who enjoy outdoor adventures.

Things to Keep in Mind

To avoid any last-minute hassle, plan your honeymoon in China early and book your transport, accommodation, and any tours in advance. Remember to pack clothes according to the season and don’t fill up your itinerary with too many things to do. Additionally, it helps to carry a travel map as well as learn a few words or phrases in Mandarin, though you can also download and use a language app too. Also, have some cash on hand since not all places will accept credit cards, especially in more rural areas.
