Patrick Voss calls game! Fremantle wins!

Wharfie Time works again! The Dockers win the critical centre clearance, get it deep to Voss who wins the free kick and set off the greatest celebration Fremantle has seen in 13 years!

What a game. What a night for the Dockers.

Fri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:52pmFri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:52pm

Tom Stewart has kicked a goal for Geelong!

Dean Bilton profile image

First of all, that says it all about this game really.

More importantly though, it’s an eight-point game. The Cats have to kick two goals in 1:15.

And what’s this? They’ve just declared Wharfie Time.

Fri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:47pmFri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:47pm

Five minutes to play

Dean Bilton profile image

It’s a 14-point lead currently thanks to a rushed Fremantle behind and a shocking miss from Murphy Reid.

But crucially time has come off the clock. The Cats need three goals in no time. It looks unlikely, but you can never say never tonight.

Fri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:43pmFri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:43pm

Shannon Neale kicks another for the Cats! My word!

Dean Bilton profile image

Crazy, crazy, stupid, insane, mad, ridiculous game.

The Serong goal had ended it! Surely! Nope, the Cats have kicked two goals from centre bounce to get the margin back to 12 almost immediately.

Neale was awarded a free kick for a very slight hold from Pearce on the lead, and drilled his set shot. Still 7:36 to play. Heaps of time now.

Fri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:42pmFri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:42pm

Shaun Mannagh hits straight back for Geelong

Dean Bilton profile image

Or not. Who knows. It’s a mad, mad game.

Patrick Dangerfield is in the middle for the first time all game, and he influenced that clearance heavily. The ball emerged and Mannagh was released. His kick on goal from 50 was converted. Hope?

Fri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:41pmFri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:41pm

Caleb Serong rises to the occasion! Freo wil surely win!

Dean Bilton profile image

It’s come from a panicked, rushed clearing kick from Tom Stewart, who has not had his best evening. The ball fell on Caleb Serong’s chest and the stadium fell silent.

From 50 metres out, this little champion has delivered for his club yet again. What a footballer he is.

The lead is 24 points with eight minutes and change to play. I think the Dockers are into a preliminary final.

Fri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:37pmFri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:37pm

Ollie Henry gets one back for the Cats

Dean Bilton profile image

That’s goal number five for Henry, and in the nick of time too. This one comes from a loose ball 40 from goal, which he gathered and converted with a fine left-foot snap.

Back to 17 points. Ten minutes to play. Not done yet.

Fri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:31pmFri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:31pm

Michael Frederick kicks the first of the last! Freo nearly there!

Dean Bilton profile image

With five and a half minutes wiped off the clock, the Dockers kick the opening goal of the term through Frederick and that might just break the back of this Geelong resistance.

Johnson had a massive win on the wing over Dempsey before he found Frederick. Feels like Johnson has had a significant night.

Fri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:19pmFri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:19pm

Luke Jackson kicks another one after the siren!

Dean Bilton profile image

It’s pandemonium! In the space of five minutes, it feels like the Dockers have won the game! The Cats are shellshocked.

It’s come from another free kick, as three of those four goals have, this one conceded by Edwards in the ruck. Haven’t seen a replay so not sure what happened, but it’s fair to say Jackson has absolutely taken Edwards to the cleaners in these last few minutes and maybe won his team the game in the process.

Fri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:17pmFri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:17pm

Patrick Voss has kicked another one for Fremantle!

Dean Bilton profile image

In the space of three minutes, the game has totally changed again! The Dockers lead by 10 and are going to roar into the final term with a head of steam!

That was poor by the Cats, first from Edwards getting slaughtered in the ruck again by Jackson and then by Stewart who just watched as Voss ran free into space to receive the handball and goal. The crowd is going absolutely insane now with seconds to go.

Fri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:12pmFri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:12pm

Josh Treacy puts Fremantle back in front!

Dean Bilton profile image

Another free kick to Fremantle gets them forward out of the middle, and Serong’s pass to Treacy was a scorcher.

The Big Cohuna rocks back, let’s it fly and splits the middle. And just like that, Freo are back in front!

Fri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:11pmFri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:11pm

Luke Jackson pulls one back for Freo

Dean Bilton profile image

Under three minutes to play in the third, that goal is massive for the Dockers. All momentum gone, they needed a goal more than oxygen right now.

A sloppy free kick conceded by Edwards hands Jackson a shot which he doesn’t pass up. It’s a gift, but Jackson held his nerve from 40 out. Big moment.

Fri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:09pmFri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:09pm

Jeremy Cameron! The Cats are on fire!

Dean Bilton profile image

This is simply remarkable! The Cats can’t be stopped! The Dockers now look tired, with some poor defensive chases from Reid and McVee on the outer wing, and once the ball is inside 50 the Cats are winning every ball.

Dangerfield, Henry, it just keeps getting forced forward. Eventually it’s Cameron in the goalsquare getting a toe to the ball to make it an eight-point Geelong lead.

Fri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:07pmFri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:07pm

Patrick Dangerfield has put Geelong in front!

Dean Bilton profile image

Unbelievable. You didn’t see this coming at half-time, but the Cats have totally owned this third quarter and despite missing some chances have now flipped the game totally on its head.

Smith again was the architect, finding Dangerfield inside 50. The skipper owned the moment this time and nailed the kick from 45.

Fri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:05pmFri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:05pm

Ollie Henry has four! Geelong strikes again!

Dean Bilton profile image

This has been an incredible game all told. The margin is four points again.

It’s another centre bounce goal too. Smith nailed Johnson in a tackle which should have earned him a free kick, but instead of complaining he received a handball and split the back instead. His pass found Henry’s chest and Henry did the rest. Five minutes to play in the third.

Fri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:03pmFri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:03pm

Jye Amiss settles the Dockers down!

Dean Bilton profile image

Andy Brayshaw has seen enough. He had about three or four massive efforts on the wing there as his teammates floundered to first stop the Cats and then set up the Dockers.

It all ended with a long ball inside 50 which Amiss read best to mark at the back of the pack. He kicks his second to get it back to 10 points and just settle everything down.

Brayshaw though. He’s the difference maker.

Fri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:00pmFri 11 Sep 2026 at 10:00pm

Ollie Henry finally gets the goal for Geelong!

Dean Bilton profile image

Geez that’s a scary one. Henry was tunnelled dangerously by Chapman and landed very heavily on his shoulder. Luckily it wasn’t his neck, and he’s OK to go back and take his kick.

The Cats finally get reward for their effort in this quarter and it’s now a four-point game. Seriously impressive stuff from the Cats.
