In Siaya county, the demonstrations are being led by some leaders from the region. Protesters are carrying placards and tree leaves along the roads chanting slogans against the high cost of living.

In Migori, demonstrators have barricaded the roads with stones and tree logs. The police were forced to lob teargas canisters to disperse the crowd.

The police in Kisii are hanging around as the streets have remained calm despite the mass action call.
