Charlton Draw Man Utd In Quarter-Finals Of 2022-23 Carabao Cup – Sport Grill

Charlton Athletic face a tricky trip to Manchester United in the Quarter-Finals of 2022-23 Carabao Cup.

Charlton’s reward for stunning Brighton & Hove Albion on penalties in the Fourth Round following a goalless draw at The Valley, is a difficult away tie against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Utd will enter the tie as overwhelming favourites, having conceded just one goal in their last eight meetings against the Addicks in all competitions, plus prevailed 5-1 in their only previous clash in this competition in September 1974, albeit at Old Trafford too.

Having eliminated reigning champions – Liverpool, Manchester City will now face a long trip to St Mary’s to face Nathan Jones’ Southampton for a place in the semi-finals, which will take place across two legs between 24-25 January 2023 plus 31 January – 1 February.

Nottingham Forest will host Wolves at the City Ground in a Midlands derby after both teams knocked out EFL opposition in the Fourth Round, as Forest thrashed Blackburn Rovers whilst Wolves battled past Gillingham.

Newcastle United continue their chase for a first-ever League Cup title with a home clash against three-time winners Leicester City, which is scheduled to be played just over two weeks after the pair meet at King Power Stadium on Boxing Day in their first Premier League match since the World Cup break.

Quarter-Final ties will be played across 10-11 January 2023, with two fixtures selected for live broadcast on Sky Sports.
