King County Housing Authority and partner community organizations will be hosting a pre-Bid conference with interested contractors and subcontractors to provide general information about the Skyway Resource Center redevelopment project.

The event will be held at the project site and details are below: – Date/Time: March 28th (Tuesday) at 4pm – Location: 12610 76th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98178

This is a general information session prior to the bidding process to gauge interests from contractors and subcontractors. We will review our project’s mission, targeted timeline, preliminary scope of work, WMBE goals, and Public Works process with King County Housing Authority. We especially welcome those who have no prior experience working on Public Works projects with King County Housing Authority.

The Skyway Resource Center project is the full renovation of an existing former US Bank branch office building into a community multi-resource center. The building was originally built in the 1960’s and the project will bring the building up to current codes and standards to create a comfortable and efficient community hub in the center of Skyway neighborhood. Work includes, but is not limited to: building envelope improvements, upgrading of all major building systems, asbestos abatement, replacement of all interior fixtures and finishes, minimal site and utility work, and more. The property is located at 12610 76th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98178.

PURPOSE: King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) is requesting industry comments on the upcoming M Street Trunk Rehabilitation Project. King County anticipates utilizing the Progressive Design Build delivery method as approved by the Project Review Committee on 1/26/2023.

Prospective Proposers have an opportunity to provide feedback, particularly on the items within the formal Request for Information (RFI) questionnaire. Responses to the RFI will assist in formulation of the Request for Qualifications.

PROJECT BACKGROUND: This project is to rehabilitate approximately 13,900 linear feet of 18, 24, 30 and 36-inch diameter severely deteriorated reinforced concrete pipe and 45 precast concrete maintenance holes between MHs GR21-34A and R18H-78A comprising the northern portion of the M Street Trunk located within the City of Auburn, Washington. The project will require close coordination with the local jurisdictions for traffic control and associated sewer diversions that will impact public services.

ESI Section 8 is experiencing significant degradation due to age, pipe material, and hydrogen sulfide-related corrosion and needs to be repaired to prevent failure, overflow, or disruption of service. The objective of this project is to maintain reliable sewage conveyance and extend the useful life of the existing sewer by rehabilitating conveyance system pipelines and/or structures suffering from severe hydrogen sulfide-related corrosion while minimizing capacity impacts.

ENGINEER’S ESTIMATE: $83,000,000

King County Housing Authority’s Weatherization group is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide Weatherization & Repair Services. Selected firms will weatherize and/or repair the homes of low-income owners and renters participating in the weatherization assistance program.
