A person taken to Christchurch Hospital with critical injuries after a collision between a motorbike and a vehicle remains in intensive care.
Police said the crash in the suburb of Upper Riccarton, near the intersection of Riccarton Road and Hansons Lane, happened about 9.15pm yesterday.
The driver of a car involved in a crash with another vehicle was taken to hospital in a serious condition yesterday after a collision on Yaldhurst Road, in the suburb of Russley, in Christchurch.
Three injured in Karapiro crash
Emergency services have responded to a crash at the intersection of State Highway 1 and State Highway 29 near Karapiro after police received reports of a crash at about 3.35pm.
In a statement, police said one person sustained serious injuries in the crash while two others were left with moderate injuries.
The scene of the crash was being cleared.
Major South Island pass closed today
This afternoon police warned motorists to avoid travelling over Arthur’s Pass, State Highway 73, between Christchurch and the West Coast, following an incident involving a truck and a trailer on the highway.
The road was expected be closed for several hours while the blockage was cleared.
