There will be full closure on SH25 during part of the day on Wednesday.

Motorists on the Coromandel using SH25 are warned to expect long delays as work continues to fix the road between Hikuai and Opoutere.

The road suffered a major underslip with the recent wet weather and has been operating under stop/go management.

However, on Wednesday Waka Kotahi said contractors will work to stabilise the surface of the temporary bypass track. They will require periods of full road closure for 30 minutes to an hour at a time.

“At regular intervals the road will reopen under stop/go traffic management to allow light vehicles access before closing again and resuming the work.”

The full closures will start from 10am on Wednesday.
