Good morning and happy Wednesday! It’s currently 71 degrees and with partly sunny conditions throughout the morning, it should be a good day to get those steps in.
Pop up showers are not out of the question for southern Illinois this afternoon, but chances are slim. Afternoon temperatures are expected to reach 83 degrees. Wind gusts could reach 25 m.p.h.
Thursday morning is expected to start out in the 60s, with a higher chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Stronger storms are possible Thursday evening, but are not predicted to be widespread. Wind gusts and slight hail are the main concerns with this system.
Rain totals continue to trend downward, with most of the area seeing less than an inch of rain by the weekend.
