As a general rule, contending NBA teams roster veterans. Sure, the league is filled with young superstars who can help their teams win games.
A team with a young core can be successful. Still, they’re going to need a cast of quality veterans behind them.
Take the New York Knicks. This is a winning team in 2022-23. Meanwhile, most of their core rotation members are NBA veterans.
RJ Barrett is the exception. With that said, Barrett hasn’t necessarily been a positive contributor for the Knicks this year.
Some would say that they’ve been successful in spite of his shortcomings.
Could they send him to the Utah Jazz this summer?
