Nakuru: Dreaded ‘Confirm Gang’ Leader Arrested with Killer Knives, Confesses to Terrorising Locals

• Jackson Mochere also known as Rogers was arrested yesterday in connection to the deadly Confirm gang
• He said he has been in the killer gang that has been terrorising Nakuru residents for four years
• At the time of his arrest, he was found in possession of knives and other weapons

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicions of being one of the leaders of the dreaded gang confirm which has been terrorising Nakuru locals.

Jackson Maruche was arrested yesterday after the authorities received a tip-off from the public about a meeting that led to his arrest.

Speaking to the press, the suspect confessed he has been in the gang for four years without disclosing how he managed to enter it at such a young age.

“My name is Jackson and I live in Mawanga with my wife who is about to give birth to a baby. In Confirm, you do not have to formally join. It is what young men do around here,” he said.

Nakuru County Police Commander Peter Mwanzo brought the suspect who is also known as Rogers to tears after asking him why he was walking with knives.

He shed tears instead while at pains to explain why he was armed with weapons.

“Yesterday there was an operation. We heard there was a meeting and on a tip-off, officers were able to arrest him. The gentleman here before us is linked to many atrocities and killings within Nakuru. His gang is also involved in house breakings and robberies,” the police commander said.

Confirm gang kills 5 women in Nakuru in once week

Fear gripped Bahati residents in Nakuru county as a vicious gang targeting women killed its fifth victim in June this year.

Twenty-three-year-old Diana Opicho was the fifth victim in the spate of femicides that had been happening in Mawanga Area in Nakuru.

Three days before the gang which has since been identified as Confirm killed Diana, they stormed Susan Wambui’s home on Tuesday, June 21 and killed her in cold blood.

In a period of two weeks, the ruthless gang attacked and assaulted five women. Residents said they are posing as Kenya Power officials and tricking the women to open their doors for them.
