Auckland’s Western train line services are only operating between Swanson and Avondale until further notice, Auckland Transport says.
The cancellation is due to a “track infrastructure issue” between the Grafton and Morningside stations.
Scheduled buses will run between the stations, accepting all rail tickets.
“Expect delays and cancellations to all Western Line services,” Auckland Transport said.
Auckland Transport has been asked how these cancellations will affect those Aucklanders hoping to use public transport to get to the Guns and Roses concert at Eden Park on Saturday, as well as Jack Johnson at Western Springs and Christmas in the Park at the Domain.
The rain and strong winds plaguing Auckland on Friday morning had also caused the cancellation of the 6.30am ferry between Gulf Harbour and Auckland city.
Extra buses have been put on in lieu of the ferry.

Auckland’s remaining diesel passenger units end their service in July 2022 on the Papakura-Pukekohe line.
At this time, the 8.30am and the 10.30am ferry sailings are still going ahead.
There are currently no weather warnings in place for Auckland, with occasional rain easing to isolated showers forecast for the rest of Friday.
The fresh northeasterly winds forecast for Friday morning are forecast to ease this evening.
