Star Entertainment’s licence to operate casinos in Brisbane and the Gold Coast is looking uncertain, after an inquiry found evidence of wrongdoing and money laundering within its Qld operations.
The report from the inquiry is expected to have similar findings to the NSW report, which deemed Star Entertainment unsuitable to hold a casino licence.
The report is also expected to impose controls on gambling in the state’s pubs and clubs, recommending mandatory pre-commitment rules on people playing poker machines.
