A crash on SH3 in Midhirst Taranaki has closed parts of the highway and seriously injured one person.
Part of State Highway 3 is closed after a serious car crash early Thursday morning.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Mountain Rd, SH3, between Surrey Rd and Denbigh Rd, at 5.20am.
A police spokesperson said one person had sustained serious injuries and the highway was closed with diversions in place.
Police have advised people to avoid the area.
In a Facebook post, Waka Kotahi has also advised motorists to follow emergency services’ instructions.
