Shakira Postpones Concert at Pyramids of Giza to 2027
Shakira has postponed her highly anticipated concert at the Pyramids of Giza, originally slated for November 28, 2023, to April 2, 2027. This decision comes in light of the “current circumstances in the region,” as stated by the Colombian pop star.
In an emotional message shared on her Instagram story, Shakira expressed her disappointment about the delay. “It truly breaks my heart that we have to wait a little longer to be together,” she remarked.
Safety Concerns Prompt Rescheduling
The 49-year-old artist made the announcement on Saturday, October 31, via her Instagram account, directly addressing her fans. She highlighted that performing at the pyramids represents one of her long-cherished career dreams. “The decision was made with everyone’s safety and well-being as the highest priority. Egypt, I am coming!” she reassured her audience.
This marks the second postponement of the concert within a year; the performance was initially scheduled for April 7, 2023, before being moved to November due to escalating tensions arising from regional conflicts.
Part of a Major World Tour
The concert is part of Shakira’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour, her first major tour in seven years. This tour kicked off in Rio de Janeiro in February 2025 and is promoting her album of the same name, which was released in 2024.
Engagement with Fans
Shakira first announced the Egypt date in a September video message tailored for her Arab fanbase, where she notably spoke in Arabic, earning widespread acclaim on social media. Fans who purchased tickets are encouraged to verify through the ticketing platform, TicketEgypt, regarding the validity of their tickets and the conditions for potential refunds.
In her message to fans, Shakira expressed gratitude for their “patience” and “understanding,” assuring them that the wait would be “worth it.” “See you on April 2, in Cairo!” she concluded.
