Shell Lubricants Egypt Partners with MANDREAM to Supply Oils for BYD Vehicles
Shell Lubricants Egypt (SLE) has entered into a strategic partnership with MANDREAM, the exclusive authorized importer and distributor of BYD vehicles in Egypt, to provide specialized oils and fluids tailored for BYD’s range of vehicles, including new energy vehicles (NEVs).
Expanding Presence in the NEV Market
This collaboration marks a significant expansion of Shell’s footprint in the burgeoning NEV segment. The agreement allows SLE to supply a range of products specifically engineered for BYD’s plug-in hybrid and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Although these advanced technologies differ from traditional combustion engines, they still demand specialized fluids for optimal operation and maintenance.
Leveraging Global Expertise
According to both companies, this partnership will enable Shell Lubricants Egypt to leverage its global expertise in cutting-edge automotive technologies. This initiative aims to provide Egyptian consumers with high-quality lubricants and fluids that align with the evolving demands of modern vehicles.
Eng. Haytham Yehia, Cluster General Manager for Shell Lubricants in the Middle East, Egypt, and Central Asia, emphasized the significance of this partnership. “This collaboration fuses Shell’s extensive knowledge in lubricants with BYD’s forefront position in new energy vehicles,” he stated. “It symbolizes a further commitment from Shell Lubricants Egypt to enhance our activities in this promising market segment and cater to the needs of BYD vehicles in Egypt.”
Support for the Electric Vehicle Sector
Khaled Youssef, CEO of MANDREAM, expressed optimism regarding the alliance, highlighting its role in supporting the rapid advancement of Egypt’s electric and hybrid vehicle market. “We recognize the importance of strategic partnerships with prominent international companies as part of our growth strategy,” Youssef remarked. “Our collaboration with Shell Lubricants Egypt is a testament to this vision, facilitating our mission to create an integrated after-sales service network and adapt to the swift progress in Egypt’s electric and hybrid vehicle sectors, while also supporting the expansion of our technology centre network.”
