Sister of Nyamira Bride Whose Bridemaids Were Chased Away by SDA Pastor Blasts Him: “He Messed the Wedding”

The sister of the Nyamira bride whose wedding degenerated into drama after an SDA pastor chased away non-Adventist bridesmaids.

The viral video of the cleric lashing out and chasing away the bridal party emerged on social media two days ago and ignited divided reactions online.

Taking to her Facebook page, Damaris Obiero who is the sister of the bride Roselyn Barongo blasted the pastor saying he ruined the wedding and further warned Kenyans against hiring him to officiate their weddings.

“This pastor messed up my sister’s wedding! He said everyone who is not SDA shouldn’t march in the wedding. They didn’t match. The words that were coming out of his mouth gave the reason for people’s reactions,” she said.

In another post, a seemingly agitated Damaris said the pastor also refused to have a meal with the newly-wedded couple and their guests.

“Besides all frustrations received in the morning by Pastor Omwoyo, he even said he does not eat at dowry ceremonies saying that it was traditional,” she said.

In her post, Damaris fiercely defended the bride maids saying they were decently dressed as their dresses were floor-length.

SDA pastor chases away bridal party

There was an uproar at the church in Nyamira when the Seventh-Day Adventist Pastor sent away bridesmaids over their dressing and being non-SDAs.

In a video seen by TUKO.co.ke, the seemingly angry man of the cloth told the crowd that their dressing went against the teachings and rules of the Seventh Day Adventist church.

The pastor based his arguments on the fact the wedding he was officiating was a church wedding and therefore a Holy union.

“Kama umevaa jinsi isivyo stahili, try somewhere else not this Seventh-day Adventist church. Harusi tunayofanya inaitwa harusi takatifu, ndoa takatifu. Hata kanisa haiwezi kaa na vitu ambavyo haviendi na mpango wa Mungu,” the Pastor said.
