Teyana Taylor had the support of her husband Iman Shumpert and their kids Rue Rose Shumpert and Iman “Junie” Shumpert at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival of “A Thousand And One” Premiere at The Ray Theatre on January 22, 2023 in Park City, Utah.
The fashionable family wore matching grey and tan Thom Browne clothing as they posed for pictures. The Shumpert girls, however, stole the show girls in their red boots, which gave their outfits a nice pop of color. It also doesn’t hurt that they are irresistibly cute!
“About last night…I would like to take this opportunity to Thank the Lord for allowing me this platform to work with some wonderful people, this is not a small thing. I am truly grateful, Teyana captioned alongside some photos from the premiere.
“A Thousand and One” is written and directed by A.V. Rockwell in her directorial debut, and stars the multifaceted artist Teyana Taylor. The film focuses on Inez De La Paz, played by Taylor, and her relationship with her son, Terry, played by Aaron Kingsley Adetola, Aven Courtney, and Josiah Cross, at different ages.
According to a synopsis of the film on its website: “Convinced it’s one last, necessary crime on the path to redemption, unapologetic and free-spirited Inez kidnaps 6-year-old Terry from the foster care system. Holding on to their secret and each other, mother and son set out to reclaim their sense of home, identity, and stability in New York City.”
According to the Hollywood reporter, Taylor ‘powerfully embodies a woman’s fight to keep home and family together’ while A.V.’s feature debut ‘is a volatile account of a mother-son relationship.’
You can catch “A Thousand and One” on the big screen when it hits theaters on March 31.
