The Steam Winter Sale begins Dec. 22 with thousands of game deals

Yes, the second-best Steam Sale of the year is right around the corner. Which means loads of games that you can save money on.

Sure, maybe they’ll just end up in your ever-growing backlog of games that you never touch. But just think of the savings! Plus, there’s more going on with the Steam Sale than just discounted games. Of course, browsing for games at discounted prices is definitely the main attraction. And there’s a super easy way of finding every game you want on sale.

Here’s how to go about it so you don’t miss out on the discounts. Launch the Steam client and then go to the store. Browse through games, or search for ones you’ve had your eye on, and add those to your wishlist. Steam will automatically notify you by email when those games go on sale. So if they’re part of the Winter Sale and get discounts, you’ll know. So long as you check your email.

Vote for Steam Awards 2022 winners during the Winter Sale

Back during the Autumn Sale, Valve had users nominate games they wanted to see win awards across a variety of categories. During the Winter Sale, you’ll be voting for those nominees to see who wins during the Steam Awards 2022.

So while you’re browsing games, don’t forget to take a break and pop on over to the voting section. Make sure to toss a vote to your favorites. Valve is announcing the nominees in each category starting today. So if you’re curious you can check out the nominees prior to the sale going live next week. Which is when you can start voting. A new category with its nominations will be announced each day leading up to the sale.

The first category is Best Game On The Go, and wouldn’t you know it every game nomination is either playable or verified on Steam Deck. As for the sale itself, it goes live at 10am Pacific on December 22, and it’ll be live until January 5 at the same time.
