Alonso Reflects on Chelsea’s “Mature Performance”
“We are pleased with the result. The match presented several different phases; the first half saw opportunities for both teams,” Alonso stated. “At halftime, we emphasized the need to maintain better possession, reminding the players that controlling the ball would lead us to victory. Our performance improved significantly at the start of the second half, showcasing maturity in various moments.”
Despite a shaky first half where they were fortunate not to concede, Chelsea turned the tide impressively after halftime, demonstrating a composed approach against an opponent susceptible to pressure.
