Phuket is known throughout the world as being an ideal place for a memorable holiday and a key reason for this is the island’s idyllic beaches like those mentioned below!
Mai Khao Beach
Encompassing a shoreline that stretches for around 11 km, Mai Khao Beach borders the Sirinat National Park and is the perfect place to enjoy coastal bliss in Phuket; resorts can be found right beside secluded beach areas such as Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas where you can enjoy plenty of pampering too. You can also try “plane spotting” and capture pictures with unique perspectives of planes coming to land at the nearby airport!
Patong Beach
The 2.5 km stretch of Patong Beach is amongst the island’s most popular and thus, don’t be surprised to find it buzzing with activity when you visit. Though this may not be the place to go to if you are in search of quiet relaxation, it does offer plenty of things to do, water sports and dining options as well. Of course, when the sun has set, Bangla Road near the beach transforms into a nightlife playground where you can dance your cares away!
Freedom Beach
For more seclusion, you can plan a trip to Freedom Beach which can be reached via a longtail boat ride (around 10 minutes) which adds to the adventure of visiting this shoreline. You can expect to find pristine sands and laidback island vibes, ideal for soaking up the sun or swimming amidst the serenades of the sea. Additionally, you can head to the beach’s northern area and make the ascent up cement stairs to take in stunning views.
Layan Beach
Tucked away along the west coast is the picturesque Layan Beach which features a more tranquil atmosphere with a lovely shore bored by tall pine trees; it’s the perfect spot to sit in the shade and watch the world go slowly by as well as catch spellbinding sunsets. The ocean waters here are relatively calm since the shoreline is sheltered by a small island called Koh Kala, while kayaks can be rented out too for some enthralling exploration.
