Kaizer Chiefs is on the verge of announcing the signing of 27-year-old Bafana winger Elias Mokwana. The former Sekhukhune United player is set to become a key figure in the squad’s strategy moving forward.

Performance Statistics Raise Concerns
Mokwana, who transferred to Saudi Pro League club Al Hazem on loan from the Tunisian side Esperance in August 2025, had a modest campaign. He made 24 appearances in the 2025-26 Saudi Pro League, netting just once and providing three assists. This output, coupled with six yellow cards over the season, raises questions about his overall contribution and discipline. For the Glamour Boys to maximize his potential, addressing these issues will be crucial. In the 2023-24 season, Mokwana showcased his ability, finishing with four goals and four assists across 25 league games for Babina Noko.
Current Struggles for Kaizer Chiefs
With Kaizer Chiefs trailing 12 points behind leaders Sundowns after only nine matches, the team faces significant challenges. Are the current players failing to meet expectations, or is coach Da Cruz unable to harness the potential of his young squad? Following a disappointing exit in the MTN8 quarter-finals to Golden Arrows, the upcoming Carling Knockout match against Siwelele becomes critical for the team’s morale and trajectory.
