American television show host, Ellen DeGeneres has been saddened by the death of her ex-girlfriend Anne Heche.
Heche died aged 53 after her fiery car crash. She was declared brain dead and taken off life support before her death.
In her heartfelt message on social media, Ellen DeGeneres says “This is a sad day”.
Tributes have been pouring in for the late actress who was declared legally dead on Friday morning, August 12, 2022.
Heche’s heart is however being kept beating so that it can be harvested for donation, multiple American media reports monitored by African Entertainment revealed.
Ellen DeGeneres who dated Heche from 1997 to 2000, noted in her post that she was: “sending Anne’s children, family and friends all of my love.”
Heche and DeGeneres had vowed to marry in 1999 if Vermont had legalized same-sex marriage.
On August 5, this year, Heche reportedly drove into the house of a woman called Lynne Mishele at 90mph while under the influence of cocaine.
And on Thursday, her team announced that she was ‘not expected to survive’ the injuries she sustained from her car crash.
The late actress is survived by two sons – Atlas, whom she had with James Tupper, and Homer, 20, whom she had with her ex-husband Coleman Laffoon.
