Upcoming Features of Samsung Galaxy S27 Series Unveiled
- All four models of the Galaxy S27 have reportedly surfaced in an import-export database, showcasing their anticipated chipsets.
- The Galaxy S27 Pro may utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, rather than the more powerful Extreme variant designated for the Ultra model.
- Rumored specifications suggest the Galaxy S27 Pro will feature a 6.5-inch display, positioned between the 6.3-inch S27 and the 6.9-inch S27 Ultra.
As we approach the new year, anticipation builds for Samsung’s Galaxy S27 flagship phones. Recent leaks indicate that the Galaxy S27 Pro may not include Qualcomm’s most advanced chipset.
Scheduled for a launch in the first quarter of next year, the Galaxy S27 series has already drawn inspiration from Apple’s design, particularly with the S27 Ultra’s unique horizontal camera array as opposed to its previous vertical setup.
The Galaxy S27 lineup will also see the introduction of the S27 Pro model, expected to feature a range of Ultra-specific attributes, such as a Privacy Display, though it might lack the S Pen. Nevertheless, performance insights suggest the Pro variant could be outfitted with a less potent chipset than its Ultra counterpart.
According to listings accessed by Notebookcheck, all four Galaxy S27 models—comprising the Galaxy S27, S27 Plus, S27 Pro, and S27 Ultra—have appeared in an import-export database, detailing their respective chipsets.
The listings suggest that both the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27 Plus will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 2700 chipset. Conversely, the S27 Ultra is expected to adopt Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor—consistent with Samsung’s typical practice of reserving the top-tier chipsets for Ultra models.
A notable point of interest is the Galaxy S27 Pro’s listing, which indicates it might feature the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 rather than the Extreme variant. Qualcomm’s recent release of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series included both an Extreme version, which boasts clock speeds up to 5GHz, and a non-Extreme variant.
One potential reason for this decision could be thermal management, as the Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to incorporate several Ultra features within a more compact design. Thus, a slightly lower-clocked chipset may aid in maintaining optimal temperatures.
The S27’s display sizing is expected to remain largely unchanged, with the base model retaining a 6.3-inch screen and the S27 Plus featuring a 6.7-inch display. The Ultra variant will reportedly maintain its expansive 6.9-inch screen size, while the new S27 Pro is anticipated to offer a 6.5-inch display, striking a balance in size.
This positions the Galaxy S27 Pro as an intriguing option for consumers seeking key Ultra functionalities in a more manageable device. As the launch date approaches, further updates are likely, and specifications could evolve. However, if current leaks are accurate, potential buyers may find the S27 Pro doesn’t deliver the downsized performance they were hoping for.
