Seven people, including several Old Dominion University students, were shot about a mile away from the Norfolk, Va., campus just after midnight Sunday, according to police.
Police responded to the scene around 12 a.m. and found seven victims, all of whom were rushed to the hospital, the Norfolk Police Department said.
Five of the victims sustained non-life threatening injuries and two have life-threatening injuries.
The victims have not been publicly identified but Old Dominion University tweeted that “several” students were wounded in the off-campus shooting.
The university campus was secured and the school called it an “isolated” incident.
Old Dominion said it would provide counseling for any students.
No arrests have been announced and a spokesperson for the Norfolk Police Department did not immediately return a request for updates from the Daily News Sunday.
