“Unity, spirituality and obedience to the Almighty Allah – these are exactly those values for which our ancestors died, and each of us is ready to repeat their unforgettable feat,” wrote Kadyrov
The President of the Russian Republic of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said on October 8 that another 70,000 Chechen fighters are ready to join the ten thousand already fighting in the zone of Russia’s so-called special military operation in Ukraine, TASS reported.
“Ten thousand Chechen fighters are already participating in this noble cause. If necessary, another 70,000 are ready to join them,” Kadyrov wrote on his channel on the Telegram social network.
He noted that theologians, prominent Chechen elders, widows and mothers of employees of the republic’s security agencies, as well as female military personnel have expressed their support for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“This is the kind of consolidation of society that our first president, the hero of Russia Akhmat-Haji Kadyrov, dreamed of and which the state needs. Unity, spirituality and obedience to the Almighty Allah – these are exactly the values for which our ancestors died, and everyone of us is ready to repeat their unforgettable feat,” Kadyrov wrote.
Previously, the Chechen president reported that about 10,000 Chechen fighters were fighting in the zone of the so-called special military operation of Russia in Ukraine.
There is no need for Russia’s regions to postpone New Year celebrations, one of Russia’s most important holidays, because of the conflict in Ukraine, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Viktor Goremikin said, quoted by Reuters.
He stated that the armed forces are grateful for the active support of the population and added that the army has all the necessary equipment to provide for the frontline troops and those mobilized who are currently being trained.
“That’s why I consider initiatives in some regions to cancel New Year’s holiday events for children under the pretext of supporting the armed forces premature and unnecessary,” he said.
Earlier, St Petersburg’s city council said it was canceling traditional New Year and Christmas celebrations and would use the money allocated for them to provide “additional equipment, as well as that for volunteers and mobilized”.
Last month, Russia’s competition watchdog launched probes over high prices for military goods amid increased demand for Moscow’s campaign to recruit hundreds of thousands more for the army.
Earlier in the conflict, sources told Reuters that some of the troops had been sent into battle on the front lines without any training, with little food and water and inadequate weapons.
