Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage Top247 receiver Brandon Inniss was one of the first players selected to play in the All-American Bowl and the Ohio State commit was honored this week with his jersey as part of the Road to the Dome Series.
“It was a dream come true,” Inniss told 247Sports. “I’ve watched the game for a long time now. To be able to finally be in the game, once I’m there in January, I’m just excited to be blessed with this opportunity.”
The All-American Bowl has been the nation’s premier high school sporting event for 20 years and will return to San Antonio, Texas on Jan. 7, 2023, where it will be broadcasted live nationally on NBC. Over 20,000 fans flock to the Alamo Dome with the game’s alumni including Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, Trevor Lawrence, Keenan Allen, Odell Beckham Jr., Stefan Diggs, Marshon Lattimore, Chase Young, Najee Harris, Micah Parsons, Patrick Peterson, Derrick Henry, Christian McCaffrey, Ezekiel Elliott and Quenton Nelson. Legends of the game include Adrian Peterson and Joe Thomas.
“Some of the guys I looked up to that played in this game I’m honored to be in this position,” Inniss said.
“To be in the game and play with the best players in the country, I love competition so that’s probably what I’m most looking forward to doing.”
Inniss gave Ohio State his pledge in June.
“Everything,” he said of what he loves about OSU. “There is not one thing I could say I don’t love about the Buckeyes. From how they run their offense to Coach Day to Coach Hartline, how he’s developed his receivers to make them the best they can be to be in the NFL, to the players and how they are off the field, to the family environment, everything clicked and it felt right.”
The Top247 tabs Inniss as the No. 3 receiver in the class and No. 19 prospect overall.
