On the 300th day of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the latest figures have shown that nearly 7,000 civilians have been killed, including 450 children, since February 24.
In staggering figures courtesy of the Office of UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, it was revealed that 6,826 Ukrainian civilians have died as a result of Russian aggression.
Initial Russian military advances that led to horrifying scenes in northern cities such as Bucha and Irpin, as well as subsequent long range military strikes later in the year, are believed to be the main causes of these deaths.
Additionally, the figures showed that nearly 11,000 civilians have been injured by Russian forces, including 863 children.
Russia has also reportedly illegally deported around 2 million people from Ukraine back to their territory.
After 300 days of war, the Kyiv Independent also reported that 4,700 missiles have been fired by Russia into Ukrainian territory, which amounts to roughly 16 bombs a day.
