Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the added 0.35%, while the index added 0.13%, and the index climbed 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the were Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:), which rose 2.45% or 0.96 points to trade at 40.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:) added 2.19% or 2.04 points to end at 95.27 and Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:) was up 2.13% or 1.45 points to 69.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:), which fell 5.02% or 9.35 points to trade at 176.85 at the close. Merck KGaA (ETR:) declined 4.48% or 8.55 points to end at 182.50 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:) was down 1.62% or 0.31 points to 18.81.
The top performers on the MDAX were Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:) which rose 5.06% to 145.45, Kion Group AG (ETR:) which was up 4.48% to settle at 38.52 and Sixt SE (ETR:) which gained 3.86% to close at 118.30.
The worst performers were Software AG (ETR:) which was down 14.71% to 21.80 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (ETR:) which lost 5.51% to settle at 12.17 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:) which was down 4.10% to 21.27 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:) which rose 4.15% to 44.70, Vantage Towers AG (ETR:) which was up 3.28% to settle at 34.68 and Siltronic AG (ETR:) which gained 3.28% to close at 78.70.
The worst performers were Software AG (ETR:) which was down 14.71% to 21.80 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (ETR:) which lost 5.51% to settle at 12.17 and ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:) which was down 2.01% to 17.05 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 387 to 302 and 75 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vantage Towers AG (ETR:) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.28% or 1.10 to 34.68.
The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.32% to 18.51.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.17% or 3.30 to $1,942.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 3.14% or 2.48 to hit $76.39 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 3.21% or 2.74 to trade at $82.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.59% to 0.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 101.56.
