COPS have launched a manhunt for a British ex-con in Spain who allegedly stabbed his girlfriend during a row at a Costa del Sol beach club.
The 36-year-old is said to have knifed his partner who then fell from a moving car as they left a venue in Mijas Costa near Fuengirola.
The injured woman, who is also thought to be British, ended up by the side of the road following the incident at the start of the week.
The man who is believed to have several convictions for violent crime in the UK, fled the scene.
Detectives are still trying to ascertain whether she was pushed out of the vehicle while it was still in motion or jumped out of the car to escape her aggressor.
She was treated in hospital for a leg injury and other injuries including cuts and bruises but has now been released.
The man police are hunting, who has been fully identified but has not yet been named by police, is believed to have left Spain via Gibraltar according to local reports.
The Civil Guard is leading the search for the suspect.
It comes as last week a British holidaymaker was arrested at Majorca’s Palma Airport after allegedly raping his girlfriend at their hotel on the island.
The man was held as he tried to fly home after his partner went to Spanish police to say he had forced himself on her in the bathroom of their hotel room.
And last month a Brit was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his partner on a holiday flight heading to Spain.
The 61-year-old was detained after air traffic controllers said officers were called to a Jet2 plane that landed at Malaga Airport from Leeds on Sunday evening to deal with a passenger.
