2. Chichen Itza, Mexico
Chichen Itza is an ancient city of Mayan Pyramids located in modern-day Mexico. It’s one of the largest and best-preserved archeological sites in the world, and it boasts rich cultural histories.
Today, Chichen Itza is both one of the Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site – thus, this is one attraction that ought to be right at the top of your North American bucket list.
3. Athabasca Glacier, Alberta, Canada
Located along the Icefields Parkway of the Canadian Rockies, Athabasca Glacier in Alberta, Canada spans about a kilometer in length. A short walk from the nearby highway, Athabasca Glacier is arguably the most accessible glacier in the world, allowing you to experience this natural phenomenon without having to travel to the South Pole.
4. Yellowstone National Park; Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho
Home to a plethora of wild animals – including the likes of grizzly bears, wolves, and buffalo – Yellowstone National Park is a must-visit location in North America. 5. Havasu Falls, Grand Canyon, Arizona
Havasu Falls is located within Havasupai Indian Reservation in Arizona, and the waterfall’s blue/green is spectacularly mesmerizing. The falls are about 100 feet high, and the water below boasts an unusual mineral composition, accounting for its unique color. The red rocks of the canyon behind the falls stands in magnificent contrast to the water, making for a once-in-a-lifetime sight.
6. Dinosaur Provincial Park, Alberta, Canada
Dinosaur Provincial Park is about more than just gorgeous scenery (although the natural environment is absolutely breathtaking). This famous park in Alberta holds some incredible history, with some a plethora of fossils having been discovered in the area – including a whopping 35 different species of dinosaurs from the “Age of Reptiles”.
7. Antelope Canyon, Arizona
Antelope Canyon in Arizona is renowned for the incredible effect that light has as it pours through the “slots” – the cracks/gaps in the canyon. The canyon as it stands today came to be as a result of erosion of many years, resulting in a natural, beautiful phenomenon that people flock to Arizona to see for themselves.
8. Bear Rock Sinkhole, Northwest Territories, Canada
Formed as a result of the collapse of the subterranean cave, Bear Rock Sinkhole is a spectacular sight, and it holds great spiritual significance for the indigenous Dene people. It appears as a big hole of gorgeous blue waters in and amongst thick greenery, and it’s an incredible sight to behold.
9. Aurora Borealis, Alaska, and Canada
To witness aurora borealis firsthand is a bucket list item for many people, and it’s no wonder why. The natural display of light dances through the sky, creating dynamic colors and patterns that are truly mesmerizing.

10. Niagra Falls, New York
Niagra Falls is actually three different waterfalls, and Horseshoe Falls is the largest of the three. The Falls straddle two different countries, the United States and Canada, and the Horseshoe Falls is about 60 meters high and approximately 700 meters wide, making it an amazing sight to behold.
