Vladimir Putin “probably has Parkinson’s” and something is “fundamentally wrong with him medically”, an ex-British spy chief has been told.
Sir Richard Dearlove, who led MI6 from 1999 to 2004, has said his contacts believe the Russian leader’s “paranoia” could be fuelled by his health troubles.
Speaking on LBC‘s Nick Ferrari at Breakfast, Sir Richard said: “I have contacts, friends, still in Eastern Europe who think that there is something fundamentally wrong with him medically.
“But I’m not a clinician. Probably Parkinson’s, which of course has different representations, different variations, different seriousness,” he told the outlet.
“But if the man is paranoid, and I think the murder of Navalny might suggest a certain paranoia, that is one of the symptoms,” he added.

Putin is thought to be anxious about his health, and was seen during the pandemic meeting government officials while sat at one end of a comically-long table, and reportedly insisted on two-week quarantines for those scheduled to meet with him.
Reports by French investigative journalists have also claimed the Russian leader has an aide bag up his excrement during international trips to prevent it being analysed by foreign powers.
Some have even suggested Putin uses body doubles in a bid to cover up his ailing health.
The Kremlin has consistently denied rumours about the 71-year-old’s physical state.
“Everything is fine with him,” Putin’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, adding that claims of this kind “bring nothing but a smile”.
