The Ministry of Defence Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan’s (MODIAR’s) National Aerospace Agency and private company Smart Point unveiled the SCN-Demir (Dəmir; Iron) remotely controlled stabilised weapon system during the Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition (ADEX) in Baku.
Speaking to
Janes
, a Smart Point representative said that the SCN-Demir is primarily intended for operation in static positions, but can be integrated on light armoured vehicles. To date, these have included the BTR series. The representative added that the system is in service with Azerbaijan’s military and has been used operationally.
